Terrain assessment for a coastal hiking corridor
This project involved a full structural terrain assessment for a proposed eco-tourism trail along a fragile coastal dune ecosystem. Our team conducted soil borings, slope stability modeling, and hydrological analysis to identify high-risk erosion zones. We recommended a combination of bioengineering solutions, including native grass planting and coir log installations, to stabilize slopes without disrupting the natural landscape. The final design balanced visitor access with long-term conservation goals, resulting in a safe, low-impact trail approved by local environmental authorities.

We were engaged to assess subgrade conditions for a rural road upgrade serving several farming communities. Our scope included field sampling, laboratory compaction and CBR testing, and groundwater monitoring. The existing clay-rich soils showed high plasticity and poor drainage, requiring a stabilized subbase and improved culvert placement. We provided detailed specifications for lime stabilization and aggregate thickness, enabling the local contractor to proceed with confidence. The road now supports year-round access with minimal maintenance, directly improving market access for local produce.

This comprehensive survey mapped erosion gullies, soil compaction zones, and vegetation loss across a 2,000-hectare buffer area surrounding a protected wetland. Using drone imagery, field transects, and soil sampling, we quantified sediment runoff into the wetland and identified key anthropogenic pressures from adjacent agriculture. Our report prioritized restoration actions, including contour bunding, riparian buffer strips, and controlled grazing rotations. The management plan adopted by the conservation authority now includes annual monitoring protocols and adaptive management triggers based on our degradation indices.
